Reflecting back on my life, I have many different stories. These stories make me the woman I am today. There was a time in my life when I was carefree, silly, and never stressed. That was until I became more aware of the world around me, and I began to understand the opportunities that lie ahead. Today I am now able to see the power within, I have learned that when you put you heart, soul and mind to something, we are able to change the world. Don’t get me wrong, I can still be that silly girl but I now have the power and courage to stand up for what I believe in. Currently, I fill many different roles in my story: daughter, sister, niece, friend, entrepreneur, wife, and perhaps my most important role, MOTHER. My goal as a mother is to provide a healthy life for my girls, to be a role model they can look up to, to instill empathy, to help them find voices of their own, and to stand up for what they believe in. I want my girls to find their own power within. It’s not always perfect, ha! Who am I kidding? I just got pulled away from writing this blog to settle a sister fight about who get’s ice cream on their waffles. I know I wasn’t my best self in solving it but hopefully my girls are learning from my mistakes too.
However, there are times when I know I get it right. Like when my girls come to me for help because they want to create a charitable fundraiser at their elementary school, or the decide to create “Ellie’s Day Care” for all the little kids in the neighborhood, or the day decide to plan a block party that not only brings our neighborhood together but also raises money for our local fire company. It is these moments that make me believe we are doing something right. And while their BIG IDEADS are often exhausting, they are also exhilarating. When I see my girls put their minds to work for something special, I couldn’t be more proud. Empowering my children to be their best selves with an awareness that this life of ours is bigger than just us, is what this chapter is all about. Which brings me to my affection towards Four Girls on a Mission. I am overjoyed to introduce this brand to my girls because of the messages they are instilling. I love how quickly my daughters are embracing their new tees and the messages that go with them. By instilling my girls with the proper lessons and tools, I am getting ready to unclip their wings and let them fly. I’m so excited for what we are about to unleash. But…. just not too soon. I need to cherish these years a little longer.
